Jeff "the Cat" is one of the longest serving Old Boys, being part of the original squad in 1994, however his appearances have been restricted by his line of work which involves spending lots of time on oil rigs. As a result he often has bursts of appearances in an Old Boys shirt, quite often as the management look at availability and suddenly realise they don't have a goalkeeper - like some superhero they get on the phone and call "The Cat", hoping he is in South London and not the North Sea. Because of his infrequent visits, this has also meant several run outs in an outfield role, where his style can be described as energetic, at least for the first ten minutes.
Away from the pitch, Jeff has also appeared in the annual Old Boys Golf Day but has yet to cheat enough to win the main prize. He is always easy to recognise at games, the one with the radio to his ear finding out how his beloved Chelsea are getting on, and he is always keen to point out that he remembers the pre Abramovich days of second division football and Kerry Dixon.
