Player Profile:
Rob joined the club through the massive scouting network that is called "mates or work colleagues of Si Peat", and because of this we also managed to secure the skills of James Hobson, the goalscoring of Marco Pucci, and...erm...Mark Nelson. In the heady days of working with Si, Rob was a shy retiring type, never one to get very far with the ladies despite his immaculate appearance and contacts on the club scene...it got so bad that a colleague of his, aged in his late 80's, used to dish out advise to our Rob, and even bought him a nice dolly for Rob to practise with. Fast forward to the present day, and Salty is a happily married chap, and a regular in the Ressies. In fact, Rob did break through to the 1sts for a while, after a period of consistency which saw at least one of his passes each game stay in play and a period in which he didn't concede penalties like the two in one game at Old Salesians in 2007. Versatility is also a fine description of our Salty, and he is played in virtually every position on the pitch for the Old Boys, including incredibly, in goal...we say incredibly as Rob stands just 5 and a half feet tall, however his finely crafted haircut ensures that vital extra couple of inches, a haircut that incredibly remains in place throughout 90 minutes, usually because Salty will never, ever win a header. Away from the Old Boys, Salty is a fine public speaker, famously using the phrase "I'm sweating like a rapist" in his groom's speech.
